2019 Ford Ranger and Yakima offer large list of outdoor accessories
The Blue Oval is aiming for the outdoorsy crowd

The Ford Ranger is coming in early 2019, and Ford is going after the adventurous/outdoorsy type with this truck. Instead of having to buy outdoor adventure accessories through separate retailers, Ford partnered with Yakima to offer its range of products at dealerships.

This means you'll be ready to take your Ranger on an overlanding adventure as soon as you roll off the dealer lot if you so choose. Right away, Ford will be offering Yakima kayak racks, bike racks, truck-bed storage accessories and truck-bed tents. The benefit for customers here is the ability to roll the cost of all the accessories they choose into the cost of the vehicle. And all accessories come with a three-year or 36,000-mile Ford warranty, with extended warranties available for purchase. Initially, Ford will offer only a few parts, but over time it will offer pages of accessories. Eventually, some of these accessories will be offered for the F-150 and Explorer, too.

It has felt like a slow crawl toward the actual launch of this truck, but we're almost there. Production began about three weeks ago in Wayne, Mich. Power comes from a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. You'll be able to tow up to 7,500 pounds with the truck and can take one home for $25,395. Of course, the price goes up quickly with options — and with the accessories now on offer.
