The VW Teramont has posed in yet another unofficial photoshoot in China ahead of its expected debut at the 2016 LA Auto Show in November.

New spy shots published by autohome.com.cn give yet another look at the VW Teramont that will rival the Honda Pilot, the Toyota Highlander, the Chevrolet Traverse and the likes.

The VW Teramont is the production version of the VW CrossBlue concept that was unveiled at the 2013 North American International Auto Show. The production version looks close to the concept in terms of shape and design. The VW Teramont will be available in three grades probably, the distinctive grille and wheel designs indicate.

The VW Teramont measures 5,039 mm in length, 1,989 mm in width and 1,773 in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,980 mm. As speculated by IAB when the vehicle’s renderings leaked last month, the Chinese publication says that the Volkswagen will offer the Teramont in 5- and 7-seat versions.

The VW Teramont will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform. The Chinese publication says that two 2.0-litre turbocharged engine options will be available making 137 kW (183.65 hp) and 162 kW (217.16 hp). A V6 engine would also be offered, a previous spy shot suggested. The North American-spec VW Teramont will be built by Volkswagen Group of America at the Chattanooga plant in Tennessee, while the Chinese-spec VW Teramont will be built the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture.
