The 2018 Yamaha X-Max 125 features a host of visual and mechanical changes. The premium scooter new gets all-LED lighting system; tool-adjustable handlebars and a 2-position windscreen. There's a 12V outlet in the front left storage compartment, and the scooter comes with smart keyless ignition as well. The scooter gets a premium seat with lower back support for the rider, and the underseat storage is large enough to accommodate two full-face helmets. The storage compartment also comes with a boot-light.
The 2018 Yamaha X-Max 125 draws power from a 124cc SOHC engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The powerplant generates 14.2 PS of power at 8,750 rpm and 12 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine pairs with a V-belt automatic transmission. Traction control and dual-channel ABS are standard equipment.
Telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear handle the suspension duty. The scooter comes to a halt using 267 mm front and 245 mm rear disc. The front end features a 15-inch alloy while the rear is a 14-inch unit. The wheels are shod with 120-section rubber at the front and 140-section at the rear. The scooter comes with a 13-litre fuel tank and tips the scale at 175 kg (wet).
The scooter comes in four colours – Radical Red, Sonic Grey, Phantom Blue and Blazing Grey. Yamaha is yet to announce the prices, and the scooter will go on sale in autumn in Europe.
