2024 Nissan Sentra Brings Revised Looks and Becomes More Expensive

The lineup comprises the S, SV, and SR trim levels, with respective MSRPs of $20,630, $21,560, and $23,720. Pricing excludes the $1,095 destination and handling charge and dealer fees. The 2023 model used to start at $20,200 for the S, $21,420 for the SV, and $23,090 for the SR.

Telling it apart from its predecessor means having to look at the face, which was reshaped. The 2024 Nissan Sentra brings a new interpretation of the brand's V-motion grille. It also has new headlights, fresh 16-inch alloys on the SV, and 18-inch wheels on the SR. Moreover, the latter gets red logos and dark chrome trim on the grille.

Updated for the 2024 model year, the red trim, which is now on the orange side, on the inside brings the Sentra SR closer to the Altima SR and the Pro-X and Pro-4X versions of the Frontier. All versions of the car bring a flat-bottom steering wheel, round air vents that seem to have been inspired by the Z sports car, and a selection of driver assistance items. The Japanese automaker says the Safety Shield 360, with stuff such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot warning, and a few other things, is standard on all grades.

Powering the 2024 Nissan Sentra is the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as its predecessor. Mated to a new Xtronic CVT (continuously variable transmission), it develops 149 hp (151 ps/111 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 146 lb-ft (198 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm. All variants of the car are front-wheel drive, and the EPA-rated fuel consumption is 30 mpg (7.8 l/100 km) in the city, 40 miles per gallon (5.9 l/100 km) on the highway, and 34 mpg (6/9 l/100 km) combined. This applies to the S and SV trim levels, whereas the Sentra SR returns 30/38/33 mpg (7.8/6.2/7.1 l/100 km).

Choosing the entry-level Sentra S will get you 16-inch steel wheels, rear drums, halogen headlights, power windows and power door locks, air conditioning, a 7-inch infotainment system with smartphone integration, a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a four-speaker audio. The mid-spec variant adds 16-inch alloys, disc brakes at both axles, improved cloth upholstery, an 8-inch infotainment system, and a six-speaker audio.

Last but not least, the SR sets itself apart by featuring a few sporty touches on the outside, riding on 18-inch alloys, and getting LED lights at both ends and side mirrors with a black look and integrated turn signals. Opening the door of the range-topping grade will reveal the tweaked interior, with orange stitching, two cup holders integrated into the rear armrest, a steering wheel wrapped in leather, and a dual-zone air/con system.
