A mysterious customer just got his hands on one of the most coveted custom superyachts on the market. The head-turning Rock.It has officially changed hands, despite its steep pricing.

Rock.It is nearly a decade old, but this didn't make it any less attractive. Despite their impressive features, some luxury yachts have the misfortune of staying on the market for years. This 60.4 meters (200 feet) Feadship was much luckier. It sold in less than three months, with a last known asking price of nearly $45 million - a record time for a pleasure craft in this price range.

Fame might have something to do with it. This is one of those ultra-luxurious vessels associated with well-known billionaire owners, and that simply can't stay away from the spotlight. Starting with the memorable name that literally sums up the owner's life philosophy, Rock.It is impossible to separate from Jimmy John Liautaud, even though it's about to embark on a different journey.

The billionaire behind the successful chain of sandwich shops owned this beautiful yacht from the beginning until now. He wasn't one of those typical "serial yacht owners" who go for a shinier model every couple of years. Rock.It was Liautaud’s first and only superyacht.

The 200-foot vessel reflects the prestigious heritage of Dutch builders and naval architects, to which it added a fresh, contemporary American twist. It was designed by the world-famous de Voogt naval architects and styled by the acclaimed Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design studio. Although meant to be informal and inviting, Rock.It comes with a dazzling display of luxury at every step.

The bar on the main deck, for instance, is an absolute masterpiece, flaunting an unusual circular design, richly adorned with backlit onyx and mahogany. The master suite is not only bigger than a luxury apartment but it includes separate his-and-her bathrooms that are incredibly sophisticated (even the sink is carved from a single block of black marble). Unlike other boats in the same size category, Rock.It allowed generous space for all the guest cabins and made them all equally elegant.

Liautaud's pleasure craft was only meant for lavish vacations. Still, it raised the bar in terms of performance, too, not just style. At the time of its launch in 2014, it was the only superyacht fitted with an intuitive control and maneuvering system, with an integrated semi-DP auto-pilot system. Feadship is known as one of the most forward-thinking superyacht builders in the world, and its name was linked to numerous technical innovations.

After nearly ten years in the hands of its original owners, the $45 million Rock.It is ready to start a new chapter, one that will hopefully be just as successful.
